Columnea orientandina from Ecuador. As many of you know, I’m kinda into gesneriads. This is one I attained from inheriting part of a large collection of plants from a @mthoodgesneriad club member. My job is to propagate and sell them to raise money for the club. With chronic health issues, this was a lot to take on but it’s finally all come together and I seem to have a system in place. The love I have for my Garrya elliptica ‘James Roof’ feels a bit unholy. I swear I spent 30 minutes alone with it today. First blooms tonight on what appears to be a Sinningia aff reitzii. I’m not completely certain of where it came from, but my guess is Dick’s greenhouse. I could be wrong though. My Italian mother-in-law has been on hospice since Xmas. This process is always so draining. I had the day off and suggested to my husband that we eat some Neapolitan-style pizza. He was very glad we did. Since he’s an Aspie this has been really difficult for him to process all of the feelings.
